Dr Shalini Rao
Founder and Consultant Paediatric Neurologist
Dr Shalini Rao is an experienced child neurologist with expertise in the management of complex epilepsies and in starting, managing, and maintaining children on a ketogenic diet. She has experience in neuro-disability, behavioural disorders, and neuro-genetic and neuro-metabolic conditions.
She trained at the University Hospital of Wales, UK, working as a registrar in the Department of Paediatric Neurology over a period of two years, and obtained her certificate of completion of training in 2015. She also holds a postgraduate certificate in medical education from the University of Dundee.
She is dedicated to comprehensive care for the child and family, training and educating patients and families about their child's condition and thereby empowering them to manage it optimally.
Dr Gauri S Krishna
Consultant in Inherited Metabolic Medicine & Genetics
Dr Gauri S Krishna is an internationally published research physician in the field of paediatric and adult inherited metabolic medicine and genetics, with over a decade's experience in medical teaching, writing, and statistics. She is an expert in paediatrics, inherited metabolic medicine (adult and paediatric), and medical genetics, caring for children and adults with inherited disorders that affect the body's normal biochemical reactions.
She has more than five years' experience as a consultant in two of the leading hospitals in London, where she serves as quality improvement lead and head of departmental teaching. She has worked as Principal Investigator in four international consortium studies and Sub-Principal Investigator in a further four.
She works closely with laboratory scientists, metabolic dietitians, pharmacist specialists, and nursing teams. This field is research-active, with rapid and innovative developments in therapeutics for metabolic disorders.
